Anyone seen one of these engines? I've heard that they come in the FORD LCF. Its a V6 Twin Turbo Diesel. Any good for a swap? Any one have the specs, weight, HP, torq?

4.5 V6

I considered this engine but ruled it out because it only comes with an automatic and Never could find out if a manual such as from a f350 is possible. The engine is also very expensive and my experience with the truck has a real reliability problem unlike the rock reliable 6.6 and 7.8 in the older Fords which are way too big for a light truck swap. From the brochure I have: HP 190, Torque 460Ft lb, Weight about 750 lb.

If you want to spend that much I would go for a QSB4.5, can make more power and torque than you need and gives you far more options. Or in alternative look for a crashed Isuzu or Mitsubishi.

If the flywheel from a 6 liter and related parts mount, but from the factory neither ford or international offers a manual. Also I don't know how integrated the transmission control is to the engine control. If you have access to a donor truck with all the parts there including the engine, chassis, and transmission harness it might be worth a try.

Before you get that far I should tell you that I have seen broken intake elbows, cracked flexplates, bad injectors on engines just 1 year old. It could be an interesting if complicated swap. Keep us posted on your progress.

A 4BT with compounds can make the same power as a 24 valve 6BT, BUT it's gonna cost a LOT more so if a 6 will fit that's the route to go...$.02

I would expect to drop $10K for a freshly machined engine with accessory's, turbos and adapter plate/flywheel. Might be a bit less if you source core turbos and rebuild them your self as well as do your own fabrication and assembly. I spent well north of $6K and I had a complete engine to overhaul and picked up a pair of suitable turbo cores for a steal I also did all the fabrication, assembly and machining except for the block and head work which i had a local engine shop I trust do and that was ~ 4 years ago.
