I am not going to let the cat out of the bag just yet, but Love-Horsepower and I are working on an all new way to fix the problem of getting a Domestic tranny hooked up to your favorite (4BD) Diesel engine. If all goes well then you will be able to bolt up Chevy, Ford or Dodge manual or Auto trannys with just the purchase of a new flywheel housing for the back of the engine. This will be a replacement for the factory Isuzu flywheel housing, so no adapters or dual flywheels or any of that stuff. We are going to be working on this over the winter. So, stay tuned and I will let you guys know when they are ready for production. Pray that all goes well and we should be ready to try the first prototypes by the first of the yr.bounce

The good news is that I got a 47re to my shop Tue. so I can bolt everything together. It is always a lot easier to do that in the shop than in a vehicle.

Yes Dustin, I did get your PM. I tried calling you. As for the difference. I looks like the Cummins crank is about .50 shorter and the flywheel on the Isuzu 5speed is almost .50 thick, the Isuzu auto flywheel is even thicker. Thanks for the heads up I would have been scratching my head for a bit until I found out where that extra .50 came from. It looks like it will not be that big of a deal. I will just have to have 2 different units, one for manual, on for auto. The auto housing will have to be almost 1" thicker than that manual one. I also found that the Isuzu auto flywheel will have to be bored to receive the front of the torque converter and drilled to accommodate the 6 bolts for the torque converter because they fall out in a different place than the Isuzu auto torque converter.

It is all coming together, just a few more things to get done and then off to the casting company again for full scale production.

Yes, timo

I am machining a 1/2" hub adapter/ spacer for the Dodge flex plate to bolt to the Isuzu crank. This looks like it will be the simplest way to get this transmission to work behind the 4bd engines, without having to have a custom flexplate fabricated. This will allow you to still use the Dodge starter with this transmission.

Finally scored a 4BD1T. Will be needing an adaptor for a Dodge 47RH. Hopefully the engine will be delivered in the next couple of weeks. They are removing it from the frame now.
CAN'T WAIT !!!!!!!!

You may have missed the thread near this one where Allmaras Machine is selling or developing the following adapters- Gm auto/stickshift, Ford small block stickshift, Ford 7.3 ZF 5 speed, Landcruiser FJ60, FJ62, FJ80, FJZ80 and the Isuzu-Cummins block adapter allowing any Cummins adapter set to work behind an Isuzu?

Oh, I'm still around. Just not on here as much as I would like to be. 2 kids and wife take up lots of time, so not as much internet time as I used to have. I do still get orders for kits and parts. My email and phone numbers are still the same. Tim.brotzge@gmail 770.712.8644.
