I've got a 92 bronco with an e4od that is still in really good working condition and I'm thinking about keeping it when I do my 4bt swap. Could I get a TCM from a 92 7.3L e4od powered ford and make it work with my trans? I'm hoping this would plug right in and change the shift points to better match the 4bt. Can I do the same type of swap for the torque converter? Then to help the trans hold the power better and last longer install a TransGo shift kit. I have a factory trans cooler already.

You're better off with a stand alone controller like PCS. Wiring will be real simple plus you can set your shift points to whatever you like.:D

Using a diesel TCM will be a wiring nightmare because it will not be plug and play. Plus the shift points are not that great.

You can use any torque converter in the E4OD/4R100 family. 4 or 6 stud, it's whatever your flexplate hole pattern is.

For a shift kit, TransGo tugger or Sonnax Sure Cure are both good. Seeing the tranny is not in the vehicle instal the entire kit. This will involve pulling the pump for modification.

I found a cool thread on cumminsforums where a guy used a circular saw blade as the toner ring. Seems like has had to do a lot to make it work.
I think for the price it would be dumb not to use an aftermarket controller like the us shift controller.
All options are pretty much open until things start actually happening.
