Is an Airdog fuel/air separater a good idea on a 4BT?

Is anyone out there running a Airdog fuel/air separater on their 4BT?

They seem to work, I'm wondering if anyone noticed a difference post installation.

And what model to get. They have many models with what seems to me to be crazy numbers of gallons per minute they pump. Like 150+ gallons per minute. If I get 20 mpg and run 60 mph, that is 3 gallons per hour. I think I may be misunderstanding something because other than a locomotive, what uses over 100 gallons an hour?

There's nothing wrong with the aftermarket feed pump except they are generally a bit pricey. If you use one just be sure it's the right one for your injection pump. If you have a VE pump then you'd want one for a 1st gen Dodge Cummins. Since you're using a brand new engine, it has a lift pump. If you went to one of the outboard models you'd probably want to remove that one and put a block off plate in the hole.

Well I have been running an airdog II 165 on my duramax for a year and more than happy with it.

You don't generally get a quieter engine with a lift pump/filter setup, but it does help with service life on the injector pump and injectors as your supplying fuel pressure to the injector pump.

Also helps with get up and go as there is instant pressure available to the pump.
