Anyone see or heard from him? It has been a couple weeks and I need the remade filter relocation block as the original did not fit with the starter.
Dazed

Yes, I have called multiple times, left multiple messages, and sent emails.

He was very responsive about three weeks ago but has since gone totally MIA.

I am actually wondering if he is alright at this point.

Has anyone seen or heard from him since mid February?

I dont disagree and I told him that when I spoke with him. Not all of us are great at communication. I will give him the benefit of the doubt. He has provided a great product and supported it and the issues that have arisen.

Most of the guys on this form are adults & aren't kids like on the other diesel forums, that being said, hasn't been ragged out! Most of us, including me, has bought excellent products from him BUT don't expect the same on communication! There's also a lot of us on here that own a business & know how important communication is, it's more important the product!!! I Understand how life gets in the way, it DOES for everybody, But I also Don't take over 20 phone calls & messages, 4-7 emails & 4-5 texts Before I call a customer Back!!!! People are more understanding if you contact them when problems occur & if they don't then offer their money back. This forum does give him a break unlike some of the other diesel forums that I'm on! You can visit member's profile to see when they were logged on last So if you have time for that & read their PM's to you, then take the time to contact them one way or another. No one's perfect & we don't expect them to be because there was only one perfect person, Jesus! Have a blessed day!

Help!

More trouble regarding communication with Dustin Allmaras!!

I am, according to him, his first international customer. I ordered and paid for his simple conversion kit for a 4L80E in February. Given that I am overseas, I arranged for him to ship to an address in Chicago so it could come in a shipping container in which I am bringing some supplies for my business. So far, the container is ready.....just waiting for Dustin´s piece.... and, he´s not answering my calls and not replying my emails and never got any confirmation regarding shipping or a tracking number.

What can I do?

we're paying attention on the moderator side, just FYI.. Not sure what we can do but I'll try to get ahold of Dustin tomororow related to some of these issues.

thanks,
Andre

Buyer Beware!!!! This post is to let all you would be customers of this company, "Allmaras Machine Shop - owner? Dustin (aka: 69 rambler)", let your pocketbook and patience not be tested by this company/individual. I purchased an item in good faith several months ago to have "Dustin" fall off the radar and avoid any call or e-mail I sent to him. He received several hundred dollars and promised a product and time line for the product, but did not produce either. Instead I had to go through the hassle of filing a complaint with paypal and escalate that complaint to try and get something done. On the last day of the complaint, before I would be refunded my money, I receive a lame-ass apology and a tracking number. Not sure if I want to use his part, for a simple one word reason "Revenge" for filing a complaint. I am not the only one who is complaining and you would be smart to pay attention to the others as well. Don't want to put anyone out of business, but not sure if he deserves any more business from anyone who works hard for their money. A lot of excuses thrown into the mix about problems with a kid of his, but he still has obligations to the people who paid for their merchandise and did not get it. We all have problems, but we have obligations also. Can't just brush them off easily because we get our money up front and then abuse the paypal system to use someone else's money until the last possible day before it is taken back.

This is really a shame as it appeared that Dustin had finally cracked the nut to bolting the Isuzu 4BDXX to just about anything. If these adapters had been around a few years ago when I started planning my swap I would have been a customer for sure.

A word of advice, make sure you escalate the dispute to a claim as soon as possible through paypal. They give him 10 days to reply or do something once it is escalated, but if you don't escalate it, you will be out of the money and the product.

I wouldn't blame Dustin if he did stop making the adapters. Luckily I got mine from jim before all of the "issues" that people are having. I don't know what people are expecting It seems like he is a lone guy trying to pump out special made adapters that are growing in popularity mostly in part to him figuring out and doing something that others wouldn't/couldn't do.

Not to mention people are bitching because their American made custom adapter for their rare and unusual engine trans combination takes a month to get from the northeast where things go a little slower. This isn't a cookie cutter part made in China by 500 teenage worker and kept in stock ready to ship don't expect microwave type results.

If Dustin is such an upstanding (one) man trying to make specialty parts for people who can't do it themselves, that is one issue. The main issue most people are having along with myself, is I paid up front for this specialty item and was promised an estimated delivery date. When that time came and passed I tried to call this upstanding man to find out where my part was (mind you, having paid in full in advance) only to be totally ignored. No phone call was returned or e-mail answered time after time. If he was having problems, just be up front and either call the customer to schedule another date or refund the money until he can get it done. I run a business myself and I don't have the luxury of using a customer's or vendor's money for months without giving them what they pay for. That is the issue. He wouldn't have had these issues if he would have returned the money through paypal or even contacted the customers. He had plenty of time to do just that without the disputes and claims having to be filed against him.

I thought my experience with him would have taught him a lesson or two.:deadhorse:

Now I wish I hadn't asked for my original compalint thread to be taken down and I took a lot of grief from the "community" for calling out what I believed to be bad business practices from this vendor.

Maybe it's time for a reputable businessman to reverse engineer previously produced parts if this vendor is no longer supporting certain segments of the conversion community. Just my $.02

Although my conversion has had to slip due to Dustins inabilty to ship my parts in a timely fashion, the parts I did receive look top notch. I plan to pick up where I left off in the next few weeks and look forward to a diesel in my 80 series in the near future.
