Looking for parts for a Yanmar-Clone L100AE. Evidently these engines are made to be 'disposable' because I'm having a real hard time finding parts.....unless of course I need to order 12,000 pieces of something directly from China.

I've found one online seller other than ebay. I will supply a link and hope others can contribute as well.

Thanks

Oh Great.....I can't post outside links until I get a post count of 10. Seems retarded to a guy that doesn't have much time to spend online in the first place. Thanks anyway.

It's to keep spammers away from clogging up the site. No offence to you, but it's the rule and everyone had to deal with it when they first came onto this board. You could PM Bobs and he might be able to put the link in for you.

aftersales seems to be not a real concernment for these chinese clone-makers... once i have even saw the representant of a chinese motorcycle factory saying that the customers could use honda replacement parts if they didn't found parts in the chinese manufacturer sales net.........

Is there a model name on your engine? I've been looking at one of these engines and the chinese manufacturers said parts are no problem. Of course that's buying parts from the factory in china.
It appears the same type of engine (186FA was the model I was looking at) is available from about a hundred different factories, I don't know how good parts interchange is.

What parts do you need?

No Dougal. The best description for it is "Chinese clone 186F. The earlier models, as is mine, were 406cc. The latter and current models are 418cc I believe it is....or something near there. Both displacements are in current production today. Yanmar is the first to come out with the design as far as I know, may be wrong. Perhaps they let their patent lapse the same way Honda did......and now every other machine shop in China are producing them. The parts are highly interchangeable. It looks like they're all working from the same blueprints or something. Fuel injector, fuel pump......everything identical from one engine to the next. I know Dek produces them, I think Changfa does as well.....way too many to possibly list. I have a late model Leading Generator in which the engine is produced by Fuzhou Leading:

It's pretty exhausting trying to find rods, bearings etc for the diesel generator hobbyist.

Just to clarify on the common terminology, the single cylinder air-cooled diesel engines are 'Yanmar clones'......clones of the Yanmar L100AE. I think there's like 11 different Yanmar L100 models but the differences as far as I know, aren't so much with the basic engine design as they are options such as recoil starter vs. electric start. From this you get "Chinese clone".

Yup. Buy new clone and install, or buy used motor for parts......disassemble.......reassemble......run wit it till it breaks down......repeat cycle.

Not exactly the preferred way to do things but not everybody has the money for a genuine Yanmar. At least with the clones, I can play in the game a little bit.

Thanks for the title edit Dougal.

They're handy little motors that can run on vegetable oil and all kinds of stuff.
this is already what i would like to do, to use vegetable oils in some motorcycles... i'm thinking about convert my current '88 honda xlx350r to diesel and i would like to build a chopper with one of these engines...

I think I'm running into the same problem. I only get to get on here at about 4:00 AM for a little while, so I probably can't get any points either... Thank you Cummins 4BT. I don't know what I did wrong, but what ever it was; Could you please e-mail me and tell me so I won't do it again. I really like this site and want to stay on good terms with everyone. I was just trying to find out about parts too. I need 2 main seals for the Crankshaft of a Yanmar clone; It's a 2007 186FA 10HP diesel coupled to a generator. Any info. would be helpful.
