When using available casting, it clocks reservoir so column is decreased. A simple solution is to get a standard plumbing Cu

45 degree, 1.5” elbow which slips over reservoir filler neck with a few thousandths to spare. Gently squeeze in lathe Chuck to make tighter. Insert over neck and secure. Get new filler neck and secure it to top of Cu elbow. On top of new filler neck install standpipe with dipstick that reads proper level. Factory standpipe comes on baby Blazers, probably S-10’s also. Unit is not designed to increase volume, just more easily accessed.

The other option for tight engine bays is the remote reservoir. It is a round can that goes on the pump with something like a 3/4 hose that goes the the reservoir.

Ed, that is just their version of the OEM 4bt pump bracket. That kit is $575. They sort of talk like they invented this thing which they didn't. The OEM one is a Cummins part which is cast and theirs in machined out of billet. Yours appears to be one of the earlier cast versions. If you installed that one on a 4bt that style power steering pump probably won't clear a P7100. Requires a different pump reservoir and remote canister. There is one of those adapters being sold, still has Cummins tan paint on it. I thought the pump area was the same on both engines, mine in the pictures has plenty of room, Or am I missing something?

The pump area is the same but the injection pump is the issue. The 4bt P7100 is 2 cylinders shorter and there is a part on the pump that come in conflict with the standard reservoir. On a 6bt is isn't a problem because that part is farther toward the rear of the engine.
