Life got really busy for me and I enjoy spending time with my 4 wonderful children more than tinkering on my project. It's been 5 years since I have made any progress so at this time, I would rather have the space back in my garage. Therefore I am selling a Jeep build project, here are the details. This started as an '81 CJ8 rust bucket basically purchased for the VIN / Title and various parts. Bought in ’02 and chopped it up. I have various parts that are in poor to mediocre shape. I have the CJ-8 top, hood, doors, grill, center cab wall, windshield, steering box, dash, gauges, a set of decent chrome rims and other miscellaneous parts.
The build project is in the garage. It is a TDK (Throttle Down Kustoms) hybrid frame with a Rubicon long arm 4.5” lift suspension. It has the rear bumper mounted tire carrier and bumper receiver. It has the central skid plate mounted by TDK. The suspension components are powder coated. The hybrid TDK frame is a CJ on the top and TJ on the bottom. On the bottom it has 2006 Rubicon Dana 44 axles with air lockers. These axles had less than 10,000 miles on them when I purchased them. I upgraded the front axles with Warn lockers and the rear axles with Superior 30 spline shafts. I have fitted a Cummins 4BT into the chassis. It’s a 4BTAA, so it has the aftercooler and the P pump. 130 HP name plate. Not sure the mileage on the donor but it was a running unit when pulled. I was told it was less than 50k but could not confirm that. I have the aftercooler and I have seen people make them fit but I was going to do a custom unit. It is fitted to a freshly rebuilt NV4500 with the upgraded gear 5. It has an adapter and a Ford 205 transfer case that is also freshly rebuilt. I have the AC bracket and AC compressor from the Dodge truck assembled to the engine and squeezed into chassis. I have various aluminum air pipes and boots but have not installed or routed. The frame is clean but has a little surface rust from sitting in my garage for 8 years. The plan was to finished welding the engine mounts into it and then have it dipped.
I have ~$18k into this project. My preference is to sell the whole package and not part it out. For the whole package, I am asking $16k OBO. This is negotiable but I am in no need to sell. I can take pictures of whatever you want but put a lot of photos on a box site:
