What brand performance injectors do u prefer?

Hey guys I'm wondering what sort of performance injectors are you all using? I ran a set of bosch 190s when I had a single turbo and now I've got dynomite diesel 90 hp ones(stage 3) with my compounds. Fuel delivery is good but I do get some low load grey smoke and they are known to run hotter than other brands. I'm considering trying a bit smaller or cleaner set.

Your right...DD injectors are dirty, wrong spray angle in most cases & way over priced. Lenny's injectors are not the rave anymore because of this. Mention DD on any forum now & you will get laughed at.
I can build you almost any size injector in either in VCO or SAC and in a range of spray angles to match piston bowl. SAC nozzles live a longer life than an VCO but tend to have a slight haze at idle due to the extra room in the nozzle tip, that holds a very small droplet of fuel when closed.

I used to run PDR diesel in your town but now live 4hrs north in the Cariboo. Feel free to look around on my site & I can supply references on my injector builds.

Seems like most of our twin guys use the Bosch 5x.012 injector. Those should be good to over 300 HP. They were stock on the 250 HP marine 4bt with the P7100. Only difference is those have a 155 deg spray angle for the open bowl marine pistons. As Mark pointed out injectors can be made for any application. Need the correct pop pressure to match the injection pump and spray angle for the pistons. Member Eggman is using them on his twins with the VE pump.

I wouldn’t hesitate to call nascarmark beinh that he’s local to you, I would have probably chatted him up if I knew he was around when I ordered most of my stuff. That being said, I went with power driven diesel budget builders. I couldn’t find a single negative thread or comment about them, and only read great things. I asked about the none budget builder (can’t really remember, I think the tips are the only difference) but they were several weeks out, and those guys claimed you basically aren’t getting anything more except a bigger bill. I haven’t ran the engine with them yet, but as stated is why I chose them.

To second Mark, I was going to go DD, but they sure seem to have fallen off a lot since their earlier days, and lots of negative reviews.

One thing that concerns me about companies who sell performance injectors is their apparent lack of info about what they offer. Most describe injectors as +HP. Plus over what? That really doesn't tell you anything. Mostly selling hype. You need to know what your stock injector specs are and the ones on the intended replacement. Need to know tip size, tip type, hole size, hole count, pop pressure, and spray pattern. You could wind up buying a performance injector that was little or no difference than a stock model.

That’s what I liked about PDD, that’s their lingo too, not % or HP or LPM bs. Told them my build, plans for truck etc and they recommend what they’d use and why. Helped explain differences in tips and all the other good stuff. Now I just need to get the damn thing running to see if they were spot on.

I build lots of 5x12 injectors with 145 deg spray angle in VCO and also have 5x13 SAC in 148 deg for the regular pistons.
Nothing wrong with PDD but you are still paying higher $ on almost any part they sell, as they have to pay for there name, website designer/maintainer & social media presence.
As an example, they sell the exact same cummins power steering pump as I do and their price is $200 more than my price. They are no different than 99% of the other companies out there. They have contacted me twice now looking for my source on parts. Ya, like that is going to happen. lol....I've seen a ton of companies like them come & go over the 20+years I've been at this. Fancy presentation on the web cost $ & the consumer pays for it one way or the other.

I seen the writing on the wall 8 years ago & decided to semi retire & focus only on what I love....the all mechanical cummins ( as so many of the 10k so called diesel businesses that have popped up, have no clue how to tune a engine, except by putting a chip on it ). I also personally look after all my business, from web site to emails, to most of my injector builds and pump builds.....don't do the phone thing anymore, as I don't want to be tied down to a phone anymore.
If you do something you love, then it isn't like work then, is it : )

I like my DFI injectors.

I can't remember how many injectors from different vendors I've used/installed these past few years.

I won't comment negatively in public, but I wouldn't use any of off the shelf DDPs & any DAPs.

I went with DAP injectors, 7x.011 for my truck. A lot more fuel than I need for a 60mm turbo. But I'm not ruling out the idea of twins later on down the road. And I figured I can always dial these back and keep it pretty clean. I haven't spent the time to really tweak the pump and get them cleaned up as good as I know I could.

They do haze a bit at a hot idle, but I rarely notice it. Overall I'm pretty happy. Although these were reman'd and the injector bodies they used were not treated nicely at all at some point. They had big gouges from what looked like someone using vice grips to pull them out of the previous truck, or something like that. I actually had to grind a bit on a couple of them to get the hold down nut over the gouges. So I was unimpressed there. Time will tell how they hold up. But no complaints so far.

Yep, that company doesn't have the best reputation for building quality. There is no way you should have had to grind or file on your inj's. Crazy. Myself, I won't do exchange inj builds anymore. For some reason, some people think it's except-able to gouge the crap out of their inj's & think it's except-able to send in as cores. Company should have not used/sold crap like that.

The lower psi pumps like the VE or P-pumps don't push the larger than 5 hole nozzles properly and haze is one of the by products of this. Another is they fall short at higher rpm's too. And you will not be happy with running those inj's with twins or more boost/volume. Max 5 hole for best penetration into the piston bowl at high boost for these manual pumps.
