Damn, that pretty! Maybe they'll have one for the 4.8 liter by the time I'm done with my conversion.

Those have been on there for a while now, I still want to make some that are a solid piece with black lettering saying isuzu and small red lettering saying 3.9L isuzu along with a red isuzu symbol.

ASTR and I have both got CNC mills, I plan to have a crack at it when I get all the urgent stuff done. Hmmm, when will that be?:rasta:

I sent the file to ASTR a while back, not sure how he's getting on.

Nice work. Email me the DXF when you get a chance.
I'm using a trial version of cambam and really liking it. I'll buy it today or tomorrow if I remember.

But my mill is still in the setup and learning stage. I'm halfway through making a simple earth touch probe. Manual edge finding is painful

I know this thread is a decade old, but I made some steps toward making my own badge.
I need to have my machinist tell me all the parts that are impossible to CNC mill, then I'll make adjustments, but for now I'm pretty happy with it.
I'm a total noob at Solidworks. I can't figure out how to make the fronts of the letters look like polished aluminum, but that's what I plan to do with it.
Instead of paint, I had this crazy idea to use a "Makit & Bakit" kit from a craft store if I can find one. I thought about it when I was painfully painting the tailgate badge.
The Isuzu badge is 6.5 x 1.5 x 0.25". Hopefully this will replace the "360" badge on the front fender just like I replaced the Buick 360 motor.

So I uploaded this file to Xometry.com for a quick quote. Useful tool to either get parts, or for me, to get automated quotes and part analysis to see if I made any mistakes. (my design has mistakes)

QTY - Cost each
1 227.88
2 144.83
3 112.68
4 95.22
5 84.03
10 58.50
15 47.95
20 41.80

I was only planning on making 2 for my Jeep project, but as you can see, there's a benefit to buying more. Also, maybe you're seeing where I'm going with this.
I have a fear of copyright infringement, but I don't think it applies if you there's no profit gained and I'm not doing this for profit.

I also sent a concept drawing to www.billetbadges.com to see what it would cost there. Not sure how they avoid copyright infringement, because they surely look like they do this for profit.

I sent a quote to my regular machinist from work, but I haven't got a quote back. It's usually 60-70% of the Xometry quotes I've gotten in the past.

The main problem with my drafting so far is the font on the "3.9L TURBO DIESEL" part. Several spots in the lettering have inaccessible corners for the smallest of mill ends (1/32"R).

I think if I found 4 other people to go in on this, then I could reduce the cost down to about $120 instead of $300 for a set. Quote is for 6063 Aluminum. I'd still have to polish it, and paint the recesses.

Probably should start a new thread if I do this, but wanted to just throw it out there.
